The Patuxent Partnership 2022 Annual Meeting is Oct. 27, 8:30-9:30 am. Executive Director Bonnie Green will provide the year-in-review and speakers Eileen Abell and Chris Kaselemis will update the community on the University System of MD in Southern MD and the AeroPark Innovation District.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 18. Eligible Marylanders may register to vote in advance of the Nov. 8 election using the State Board of Election’s online application page or completing an application in-person at their local board of elections office.
Navy Wants 100 Drone Ships in Middle East Waters
The Navy wants 100 unmanned ships patrolling waters around the Arabian Peninsula by the end of the summer of 2023. Most systems will come from international partners according to US 5th Fleet commander VADM Brad Cooper. The Navy has been testing an experimental force of long-endurance drone ships at sea with artificial intelligence tools on shore to search for military threats or illegal activity.
Gelrud Golf Tourney – Oct. 20
The Jack Gelrud Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Three Oaks Homeless Center will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. Proceeds from the tournament benefit programs that serve the homeless population in St. Mary’s County.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling’s 11th Civil Engineer Squadron conservation team has partnered with the Anacostia Watershed Society to restore the District’s native freshwater mussel populations in the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers.
