Vallandingham New TPP Finance Director

Caitlin Vallandingham has joined The Patuxent Partnership as its new finance director.

In her role as finance director, Ms. Vallandingham will direct and manage TPP’s financial activities. She will be responsible for grant management and project accounting, leading the annual audit process, implementing business policies and accounting practices, maintaining internal controls and financial procedures, and overseeing the use of all funds.

She also will have oversight of TPP’s Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA). As a certified provider since 1999, TPP details TPP employees, recognized as experts in their fields, to government agencies to serve in senior management and subject matter expert positions.

Ms. Vallandingham has 25-plus years of experience driving mission-critical outcomes across R&D, technology transition, and major defense acquisition programs. Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, design, and delivery—helping organizations move to actionable solutions that get funded, built, and adopted.

Prior to joining TPP, she spent 12 years as a director of strategic engagement and innovation at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.

Reading Ms. Vallandingham’s resume, it becomes clear why her motto is “Every interaction is an opportunity”-Caitlin Vallandingham, and it quickly becomes obvious why this is so.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science – BS, Psychology, from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

She describes her passions as a proud sideline super-fan of her kid’s sport, a boating enthusiast and waterfront living fan, a crazy plant lady, and a Key West escapee.

The Patuxent Partnership is a nonprofit member organization that fosters collaboration between government, industry, and academia to advance education through STEM-based initiatives; to advance technology through speaker programs, forums, and networking; to advance science and technology transfer through the exchange of ideas, information, and data related to technologies; and to increase workforce development through an array of initiatives.

SoMD 2030 is focused on building a STEM pipeline, increasing career opportunities. This collaborative effort is funded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aviation Division. The Patuxent Partnership is accomplishing the work under an agreement with NAWCAD, working with St. Mary’s College of Maryland, College of Southern Maryland, area public school systems, as well as other schools, industry, and NAWCAD. SoMD 2030 connects talented students with paid apprenticeships and internships.
