St. Mary’s County will host an in-person SKYWARN Tropical course from 6 to 8pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in the Chesapeake Building at 41770 Baldridge St. in Leonardtown.

The St. Mary’s County Department of Emergency Services reminds citizens about the importance of checking the batteries in their homes’ smoke detectors and having carbon monoxide detectors installed.

St. Mary’s County residents who want to receive email warnings, updates, and special notices including road closures, severe weather updates, recreation and park notices, and CodeRED weather warnings can sign up with the county’s Department of Emergency Services.
