Free Document Shredding Oct. 25
It’s time to clean out your filing cabinets and desks to get rid of confidential, private, or other important personal documents that you no longer need to keep. St. Mary’s County DPW&T will host a community shred event 8am to noon October 25 at St. Andrew’s Landfill.
Free Disposal of Pesticide Containers Offered
The Maryland Department of Agriculture will sponsor a summer collection program for empty plastic pesticide containers according to specific guidelines. The nearest location to St. Mary’s County which accepts out-of-county pesticide containers will be the Frederick County Landfill at 9031 Reich’s Ford Road in Frederick. Collection dates will be June 19, July 24, Aug. 21 and Sept. 18, 2018.
County No Longer Recycling Plastic Bags
St. Mary’s County will no longer accept plastic bags or plastic film with the other single-stream recyclables currently collected at its six convenience centers.
