Tony Galeano has returned to his former position as head coach of the College of Southern Maryland men’s soccer team. Mr. Galeano was the men’s soccer coach from 2002 to 2011, and then coached women’s soccer in 2015.
CSM Alum Earns Fulbright Teaching Award
College of Southern Maryland alumnus Dillon Banis has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. The award gives Banis, a CSM 2014 grad, the opportunity to work in Germany to assist English teachers while serving as a cultural ambassador for the US.
Hoyer Visits High-Achieving Students at CSM
Congressman Steny H. Hoyer met recently with some of College of Southern Maryland’s most high-achieving students. The congressman visited robotics and cybersecurity students May 9, congratulating them on recent collegiate achievements and learning about their academic programs.
Hawks to National Tourney for First Time
The College of Southern Maryland men’s basketball team won the 2017 Region XX Division II Men’s Basketball Championship and competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Tournament for the first time in the program’s history.
June Events at College of So. Md.
Events in June 2017 at the College of Southern Maryland include an open house at the college’s newest campus, kids’ and teen programs, and the beginning of the summer session.
Memorial Day Closings
College of Southern Maryland will be closed Saturday, May 27, through Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day. The college will resume normal operations Tuesday, May 30.
Event Connects Job Seekers, Employers
The College of Southern Maryland Tri-County Job and Career Fair brought together 55 businesses and 400 job seekers March 28 at the La Plata Campus.
