Open Houses Planned at CSM Campuses
Participants in the upcoming College of Southern Maryland open houses can learn how to get started at CSM with less debt. Visitors can meet faculty, learn about financial aid and scholarships, receive transfer information, talk to current CSM students, and find out about athletics and other CSM clubs and organizations. The open houses are free.
Poems Serve as Inspiration for Art Exhibit
Eleven poems written by College of Southern Maryland faculty and students and other local poets have served as the inspiration for a collection of paintings, jewelry, ceramic, and fused-glass pieces by calvART Gallery member artists. These poetry-inspired pieces will be on exhibit at the calvART Gallery Visions of Verses show in Prince Frederick April 11 to May 6.
CSM to Present an Evening of Art, Poetry
The College of Southern Maryland, in collaboration with the Arts Council of Calvert County and the calvART Gallery, will host an evening of artworks and poetry readings to celebrate the value of art in our lives. The event will be held from 5 to 8 pm April 14.
Brush Up Resume for Job, Career Fair
The 2018 Tri-County Job and Career Fair will be held from 10 am to 2 pm April 10 at the College of Southern Maryland La Plata Campus Center for Business and Industry (BI Building) at 8730 Mitchell Road in La Plata.
Catch Some Tunes at Barbershop Extravaganza
The College of Southern Maryland will present a barbershop concert at 4 pm April 14. CSM’s Barbershop Extravaganza will feature catchy tunes performed by Southern Mix, a men’s barbershop chorus that rehearses and performs at the college, and special guest barbershop quartet Gimme Four.
Volunteers Needed for LEGO Robotics Day
The Patuxent Partnership is helping the College of Southern Maryland search for volunteers for the upcoming LEGO Robotics Competition.
Pianist Roadfeldt Next in Concert Series
Pianist Holly Roadfeldt will perform at the next College of Southern Maryland Ward Virts concert. The free performance will be at 3 pm April 8 at CSM’s Prince Frederick Campus, Building B, Multipurpose Room at 115 J.W. Williams Road in Prince Frederick. Doors open at 2:30 pm.
Earn College Credit at Summer Academy
With programs such as Robotics, American Music, Personal Finance, Cybersecurity, and Environmental Science, the College of Southern Maryland’s Summer Scholars Academy will give high school students the opportunity to take an in-depth look at an area of interest while earning college credit.
CSM to Host Book Discussion at L’town Campus
The College of Southern Maryland will host a book discussion April 5 at its Leonardtown Campus. The discussion on “She’s Not There: A Life in Two Genders” by Jennifer Finney Boylan is open to the public and is being presented in partnership with CSM Counseling Services and the CSM Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity.
Employers Can Register for Job Fair
Employer registration is open until March 27 to participate in the 2018 Tri-County Job and Career Fair to be held from 10 am to 2 pm April 10 at the College of Southern Maryland La Plata Campus. Cost for employers to participate is $175.
