US Expands Carribean Operations
US naval forces in the Caribbean have sunk a third alleged drug-running boat off the coast of Venezuela, and are reviving Naval Station Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico as a major staging area for the Trump administration’s operations against narcotraffickers and Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.
DoD Budget Short of Time and Submarines
The 2020 DoD Budget remains in a deadlock as time runs out to pass the defense policy bill. In addition to the budget battle being waged over the border wall, the defense budget does not contain everything the military had said it was seeking, including the number of attack submarines.
