Share a Story, Share a Feeling

Walden Wise suggests a small but powerful way to grow your emotional practice this week: Journal a story about a feeling.

Pick two or three emotions (like frustration, joy, curiosity, or embarrassment, as examples), and write about a time you felt one of them.

  • What happened?
  • How did it feel?
  • What did you learn?

You don’t need to write it perfectly—just let it flow.

Later, you might share the story with a child you care about.

Let them see how emotions shape your life, too.

This simple act—reflecting and sharing—helps kids learn to talk about their own feelings with more trust, confidence, and clarity.

We’d love to hear from you.

  • What happens when you try this activity?
  • How do the kids in your life respond?

Share your experience.

Your insights can help us support even more caring adults like you.

Try It Now and Share Your Experience

Children live in worlds created by adults. Yet, the very information that could often help us improve the experience of childhood is far removed from our daily lives. The solutions that exist remain out of our reach.

Walden Wise is a new community dedicated to bringing caring adults closer to each other and what works on behalf of children. We refer to our community members as CoCreators – caring adults who want to improve the lives of children by attending to their emotional health.

Please join us as we share valuable resources, connections and experiences to help you nurture the emotional health of the kids in your life. Let us know, what kind of CoCreator are you?
