Open Houses Continue at USCT Center in Lex Park

Black History Month open houses continue in February at the USCT Interpretive Center in Lexington Manor Passive Park.

See the US Colored Troops Medal of Honor recipient exhibits at the interpretive center and learn about the African American troops and the Civil War era in St. Mary’s County.

The free open houses will be held from 10am to 2pm every Wednesday and Saturday in February.

There is also an exhibit about the segregated school system in the county, including information about the Drayden African American Schoolhouse, which is open by appointment and on the first and third Saturdays of the month, April through October.

The open house events are free; donations are accepted. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

The US Colored Troops Interpretive Center is at 21675 S. Coral Drive in Lexington Park, MD.
