Nighttime Flagging Operation to Take Place on Thomas Johnson (Solomons) Bridge Nov. 23, 2015

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close one of the two lanes on the Thomas Johnson Bridge (MD 4 over the Patuxent River) between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties. Crews will replace Aviation Lights on the structure  from 9 pm to 5 am.

Crews will facilitate travel with a flagging operation to alternate traffic on a single open lane. The lane closure allows crews safe access to the bridge to replace aviation lights.

This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain or high winds. SHA asks for motorists’ patience during the flagging operation. Additionally, travelers should allow extra time to cross the bridge.
