‘Incredible’ Support for Bubby’s Christmas Farewell
The family of Joseph Duane “Bubby” Knott is excited to announce that through the community’s support, an astounding $120,291.13 was raised during Bubby’s Christmas Farewell at Flat Iron Farm in Great Mills. The family, in honor of Bubby’s legacy and love for the community, decided to not only match the total amount but increase their donation to $200,000, allowing them to support more local nonprofit organizations.
This generosity brings the grand total to $320,291.13! “This incredible milestone will help countless local charities and organizations, ensuring that the spirit of giving continues far beyond this holiday season,” the family posted on Facebook.
A lifelong St. Mary’s County resident, Bubby, 77, passed away in January 2024. A successful businessman, Mr. Knott was well known for his charitable giving and community involvement.
Mr. Knott’s Flat Iron Farm was also known for its dazzling display of Christmas lights, where drivers could pass through, or they can park and enjoy a number of holiday-themed events. Visitors were able to check out the holiday store or see the various displays on the farm.
The family will be sharing a full breakdown soon of how the funds raised at the 2024 Bubby’s Christmas Farewell will benefit the community.
“But for now, we just want to thank every single person who donated, supported, and came out to make this event such a success. Together, we’ve created something truly remarkable and honored Bubby in the best way possible,” they said.
