Matt Guernsey, chief engineer with the Airborne Strategic Command, Control, and Communications program office, was honored for Individual Achievement in Engineering in the Department of Defense’s 2022 Defense Acquisition Workforce Awards.
St. Mary’s Food Security Report Available
The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership has released the 2022 Food Security Report for St. Mary’s County. In 2020, 9.6% of St. Mary’s County residents and 9.6% of children in St. Mary’s were considered to be food insecure.
TPP Scholarship Deadline Is Jan. 31
The Patuxent Partnership Pathways Scholarship application deadline for 2022-2023 is January 31, 2023.
There’s Still Time to Enjoy Some Holiday Exhibits
There’s still time to enjoy the holidays at some of St. Mary’s County’s museums. The St. Clement’s Island Museum, the Old Jail Museum, and Piney Point Lighthouse Museum, have holiday exhibits through New Year’s Day.

Lusby Native Stationed on USS Truman
Lusby resident Damion Davis is stationed aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman. The Truman recently returned to Naval Station Norfolk, marking the end of a nine-month deployment after operating in the US 6th Fleet area of operations in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
