Learn About the Forrest Center at Tech Expo

Learn about all that is offered at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center during the 16th annual Forrest Center Tech Expo from 5:30 to 8 pm on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016. The school is located at 24005 Point Lookout Road, directly across from the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown, Maryland.
The Tech Expo will help parents and potential students get to know the center and learn about the career training options offered by the St. Mary’s County Public Schools through career and technology education. Participants will have the opportunity to meet the staff at the Forrest Center and to learn about the 23 completer programs and four elective classes currently offered.
Middle school and high school counselors will be available to answer questions about career clusters and to help students plan their academic programs. Staff at the Forrest Center will make special presentations to parents, explaining the registration process and how to incorporate Forrest Center programs into a student’s schedule.
This year the Forrest Center will showcase the new completer program, Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) which will be offered during the 2016-2017 school year. TAM is a two-year program that will incorporate Human Growth and Development, Teaching as a Profession, Foundations of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Education Academy Internship.
