In April, the private sector added 176,000 jobs, and the unemployment dropped to 7.5% according to the Department of Labor. However, says Congressman Steny Hoyer, Congress still has work to do in addressing job creation and relieving the uncertainty created by sequestration.
Congressman Hoyer has called for the appointment of budget conferences to allow both parties to work together to achieve a balanced agreement to fill in the gaps left by the sequester.
Mr. Hoyer is a strong proponent of the Make It In America plan, which is aimed at revitalizing our manufacturing sector and is expected to have a strong ‘multiplier effect’ on the economy.
“I am hopeful Democrats and Republicans can work together to enact Make It In America legislation, as well as a balanced sloution to replace sequestration and put our nation on a fiscially sustainable path, so we can continue to build on the progress shown [in April]”.
During a recent Congressional session, Mr. Hoyer announced four core compenents of the Make It In America plan, which many agree will have the greatest chance of helping to expand businesses and create new jobs. These components also stand the best chance of drawing bipartisan support needed to become law.
