Don’t Forget. There’s More to Explore

The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership has launched the annual More to Explore program.

Download the Beanstack app or pick up a physical passport booklet at any of the three St. Mary’s County libraries. Explore local parks, farmers markets, and historical sites to collect codewords on the blue signs until September 7, 2026.

When you find 12 words, you will automatically be entered for a prize. Those using a paper copy should turn in their booklet to the library when they reach 12 sites. You can learn more about the program and find the list of sites here.

Here’s how it works:

• Sign up online using the Virtual Passport or pick up a passport booklet at your local library. It goes great with the summer reading program.
• Use the passport as your guide to get out and explore the county. When you visit a site listed in the passport, look around for a blue More to Explore marker. On each marker, you will find a “secret code” (hint: it’s usually a fitness word). Log the code on your quick guide, in your passport, or online through the library’s summer reading program.
• Once you have visited 12 or more sites, visit a library to receive a finisher prize. You will be automatically entered into a drawing for a grand prize if you are using Beanstack. Turn in your physical booklet or quick guide to the library to be entered for the grand prize.
