Reminder: June 2 Deadline to Register to Vote

Residents may view all deadlines and more voting information for the 2026 Maryland Primary Election from the St. Mary’s County government here.

The close of registration and party affiliation deadline for the primary is Tuesday, June 2, 2026, by 5pm in the St. Mary’s election office or by 11:59pm online. Please call the election office at 301-475-4200, ext. 1625 for more information, or go to elections.maryland.gov or text VOTE to 77788.

Primary elections in St. Mary’s County will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7am to 8pm. You can vote early between June 11 and June 18.

To vote in the primary election, you must be registered to vote and affiliated with a party. Unaffiliated voters are unable to vote in the primary elections but will be eligible to vote in the general election in November.

If you wish to check your registration status, you can go to voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/votersearch and enter your information. You can utilize that website to find your sample ballot, view your voting center information, find out where to vote early, and locate ballot dropboxes.
