An F-35B that erupted into flames caused by a faulty bracket nearly two years ago has been struck by the Marine Corps, making it the first loss of an F-35 for the corps. The corps made the determination that the costs to repair the fighter would not be worth the return on investment.

An upgrade to the F-35’s engine is being developed. Pratt & Whitney says the changes will give the engine the power and cooling necessary to make the fighter jet even more of a powerhouse.

You won’t be commanding a ship, the Navy wants to recruit the “scientific or technical” skills needed to wage cyber war and needs to bring in those software engineers at a captain’s grade. A six-figure salary, commensurate with civilian workers, is necessary to bring the skill needed into the military.
