Young artists are invited to explore fine arts this summer through St. Clement’s Island Museum’s Art Kids classes. Participants will experiment with different forms of art, including drawing, painting, simple weaving, sculpting, and other hands-on projects.
St. Mary’s County government administrative offices will be closed June 19, 2026, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Community members are encouraged to attend the annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration from noon to 6pm Saturday, June 20, at the county fairgrounds.

The Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department will be able to replace outdated rescue equipment, including the “jaws of life,” spreaders, cutters, rams, jacks, and stabilizers, after receiving funds through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.
St. Mary’s Community Development Corporation completes a Lexington Park history in three panels — highlighting the Flattops and Carver Heights. The storyboards are headed to the Pax River Naval Air Museum for display along with aerial photos of Lexington Park through the decades.
