MD DNR released this year’s juvenile striped bass survey, which tracks the reproductive success of the iconic rockfish in the Chesapeake Bay. The 2022 young-of-year index is 3.6, which is slightly higher than last year’s result, but remains below the long-term average of 11.3.

The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum has unveiled its new Scouts of America Showcase to display various portraits of the Scouts throughout the decades as well as photographs capturing the accomplishments of current scouts. But, the exhibit’s centerpiece is Dan Ropp’s painting “Salute to Naval Aviation.”

JSHS Virtual Mentoring is available for high school students pursuing original STEM research with plans to compete at a Regional JSHS Symposium held at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, March 4, 2023.
