CSM Alum Earns Fulbright Teaching Award
College of Southern Maryland alumnus Dillon Banis has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. The award gives Banis, a CSM 2014 grad, the opportunity to work in Germany to assist English teachers while serving as a cultural ambassador for the US.

Maker’s Market, Green Expo Come Together
The 2017 June Maker’s Market at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center is being held June 3 from 10 am to 4 pm in conjunction with the Calvert Green Expo and Craft Fair.
MetCom Task Force Seeks Volunteers
Two volunteers are being sought by the St. Mary’s County commissioners and the Metropolitan Commission to serve on a task force that will offer proposed amendments to the Code of St. Mary’s County Chapter 113: Sanitary Districts.
Hoyer Visits High-Achieving Students at CSM
Congressman Steny H. Hoyer met recently with some of College of Southern Maryland’s most high-achieving students. The congressman visited robotics and cybersecurity students May 9, congratulating them on recent collegiate achievements and learning about their academic programs.
Delozier Earns DARE Achievement Award
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Angela M. Delozier has received the Sam Walker Lifetime Achievement Award at the Maryland State DARE conference and in-service training.
Vendor Fair Planned June 2 at Hospital
The MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary and Special Activities Committee will host a fundraiser Vendor Fair featuring independent sales representatives from 10 am to 6 pm Friday, June 2, 2017. A rain date of June 9 has been set.
Hawks to National Tourney for First Time
The College of Southern Maryland men’s basketball team won the 2017 Region XX Division II Men’s Basketball Championship and competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Tournament for the first time in the program’s history.
