Small Business Owners Present Services
A group of local contracting firms got the chance to present their services to potential public and private clients during a business procurement showcase in October, hosted by College of Southern Maryland’s Small Business Development Center, with help from the Maryland Department of Transportation and State Highway Administration. The event was held at the Business Service Center in Bowie.
Chinese Nationals Indicted for Hacking
US indicts three Chinese nationals for hacking into Moody’s Analytics, Siemens AG, and Trimble computer networks, alleging the hackers used email phishing scams and malware to try to steal business secrets.
Night of Engineering Offered at CSM
College of Southern Maryland is able to boast a number of partnerships in the community with businesses and organization. One of the most important partnerships will be highlighted on Dec. 6 during the Night of Engineering, co-sponsored by The Patuxent Partnership.
High School Seniors Can Apply for Scholarship
Four high school seniors will be chosen in the spring for college scholarships from Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative. The $1,500 scholarships are for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Navy Wants More Powerful Warships
The Navy is asking for proposals for multi-mission warships that would be more heavily armed — and slower — than the littoral combat ships. These new ships would be capable of shooting down airplanes, attacking other ships, and countering submarines.
